The Sound of the Book

This one is for the phonography geeks out there (dovetailing nicely with "book geeks" to be sure): Vanessa Rossetto composed "Bookpacking 2" from hours of sound recorded during the act of -wait for it- BOOKPACKING. Listen here.

While we are on the subject you should seek out Steve Roden's "Forms of Paper". Commissioned by the LA Public Library, it is the sound of flipping pages being shortened, elongated, and pitchshifted. It is out of print, but I am sure you can hear it out there somewhere.
