Show Your Art/Flood My Inbox Please

Here is the blazing hot off the presses "Call to Artists" that we -the newly formed exhibition committee- have put together. Details below:


The DC Public Library seeks artists' submission of work to be considered for the 2010-2011 exhibition season in the Great Hall of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library.  The library is located in the District’s Penn Quarter neighborhood accessible to all metro transit lines. The Gallery area in the Great Hall is a flexible space with eight moveable walls visible to all library visitors.

The duration of exhibits are 4-8 weeks beginning in the Fall of 2010. Both two and three dimensional work will be considered.

The DC Library Foundation retains a 20% commission on all art work sold. Sales are to be handled by the artist. 


Artist submissions must include the following:

1. 4-10 JPEG images with artist name, title, medium, dimensions, and date. (1. John Doe. Daisies in Spring. Oil on canvas. 2010). File size should be no larger than 8x10 at 300ppi. 

2. Artist CV/Resume
3. One paragraph artist statement. This statement is included as part of the presentation of your work to the selection panel.
