Stop! Murray Time

Today's critically important 21st century woman artist is Elizabeth Murray.

After about the 70's she abandoned the rectangle and her paintings began to change shape; challenging what painting could be. By the 90's they were intricately shaped and populated by these hotly colored, "bloopy" forms. You can see her in this episode of Art21 talking about life as a painter.
