A Little Spooky for October

I was perusing our collection of dialogues on music, when thick black and white stripes jumped out amid the dusty scholarly volumes. I stumbled upon DJ Spooky's "Sound Unbound: Sampling Digital Music and Culture." It is a 2008 MIT publication in great shape, but semi-forgotten. "Sound Unbound" includes a CD with excerpts including Steve Reich, Pierre Boulez, Sonic Youth, a scratch battle between Rob Swift and DJ Spooky himself and much more. Come check it out and be inspired by the wide world of modern sound!

And what a coincidence: DJ Spooky is performing Wednesday night, October 7th, at the Rock n' Roll Hotel.
